Membership of Duns Golf Club
Duns is a very friendly and welcoming golf club. We are proud of this and make every effort to encourage an environment where everyone is relaxed and approachable.
Being a member of Duns Golf Club gives you the opportunity to play when you like, as often as you like and how you like, whether you enjoy the challenge of competitions or simply a relaxing social game of golf.
We are happy to show you round the facilities and we can even offer you a chance to play the course.

Key Membership Benefits
- Full access to the course, the two practice areas and putting green, as well as the Clubhouse and bar/dining area
- Many and varied competitions are run throughout the year for all membership categories. Handicaps are initially given out by the Club’s Competition Committee but are then handled by the World Handicap System (WHS) through our arrangement with Master Scoreboard
- Join a thriving Ladies, Men’s Seniors or Junior section
- Adult, Young Adult, Family and Country members receive tickets for bringing guests for a reduced green fee of £15. (Adult – 12 tickets: Young Adult – 10 tickets; Family – 24 tickets; and Country - 6 tickets
- Reciprocal agreements which entitle our members to play free at Niddry Castle Golf Club in West Lothian and Aberfeldy Golf Club in Perthshire
- Members pay the visitors guest rate to play at Lauder, Selkirk and Bellingham (north Northumberland) golf clubs. At Swanston in Edinburgh, members pay £15
- 10% saving on golf holidays with bunkered Golf Breaks (bGB)
- Easy access to two PGA Professionals (both of whom learned their golf at Duns) who operate out of the local Putton Mill Driving Range. Both offer a range of coaching packages suited to the beginner or to more experienced golfers
- Paid-up subscription to both the Scottish Golf Union (SGU) and Border Golf Association (BGA). SGU membership, subject to registration, entitles our members to play a host of great courses throughout Scotland with preferential rates. The BGA holds regular competitions amongst all Border golf clubs and is active in young golfer development

* Qualification for Young Adult, Junior and Family (children) categories is determined by a member’s age on 1st January. Qualification for Child category is determined by being at primary school on 1st January.
The membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December.
Fees are paid annually in advance each January. Standing Order arrangements are available for those who prefer to spread fee payments over an extended period. Please contact us for a standing order form.

Junior Golf
A vibrant Junior golfing section benefits not only the club but also the Junior golfers themselves as they learn both the game and along the way, many a lesson in life. The Junior section at Duns Golf Club has always been run by accredited volunteer members giving time, expertise and encouragement to youngsters at the very start of their golfing lives.
A Sports Scotland initiative, ‘Clubgolf’ is the pathway all juniors set out upon, introducing the sport to primary school children. Open to non-members too, Clubgolf allows youngsters to enhance their golfing skills whilst encouraging them to enjoy the game for its inclusiveness, friendship and fun.
Older Juniors enjoy help with their game from accredited volunteers within the club as well as sessions with PGA professionals working with the ‘Get into Golf’ initiative

Get Involved – A Say In How The Club Is Run
The Duns Golf Club Management Committee is made up of an eclectic group of volunteers working for the Club’s benefit under the Chairperson’s guidance. We are always looking for extra help on the various sub-committees so those who want to help can easily get involved. Members views and opinions are highly valued at Duns Golf Club. It is the members club. We hold regular member forums and surveys are sent out throughout the year to gather members’ thoughts and concerns.
